Do you see handles in the middle? We can pull out an entire sub-unit while the machine is running and replace it with another board.
It's called "hotswappable" but I tend to think it's cool nevertheless.
I will actually have to reshuffle three of the modules you see here in the next week because we got another Cisco 7500 chassis back from repair. Customers won't notice that. There'll always be at least one 34Mbps high speed connection active. All the routers in the backbone will automatically re-compute how to divert the traffic.
