Computertisch, 3rd ed.

The state of affairs as of December 1st 2005.

All what remains of the IKEA "Lack" table is its top board. The legs have been removed to make CDROM drives, power buttons and other minutiae more accessible. As Xmas approaches, a 15" TFT on the desk had to make room for seasonal embellishments. Undisturbed by any approaching sacred events, the two mice to right of the laptop continue to have some violent sex with each other.

The table top now rests on four wood bricks taken from a kid's toy box:

Also new: state-of-the-art backup gear. The SCSI tower on the right now contains a DAT drive and has an external ZIP-100 (the indigo-coloured drive on the desk wedged between wreath and tower).

When I moved the machine with the CDROM burner into the center, I rebooted it accidently a few times by hitting the small reset button with my toes. Woops!

Relief comes in the form of an empty plastic box which used to contain patches for bicycle tubes. Taped (by its lid) over the dangerous reset buttons, it protects me from myself.

Ah... much, much, much BETTER!
